Our Mandate​

UWDP operates as a Section 8 not-for-profit development organization under the Companies Act, 2013 (India). Our mandate is to design and implement community-centered development initiatives that promote long-term social and economic resilience. Our work is built on trust, transparency, and long-term partnerships with communities, civil society, local institutions, CSR partners, central & state Government of India and development stakeholders at every level.

UWDP advances integrated rural development through structured programmes in livelihoods, healthcare access, institutional strengthening, and community empowerment. We work through evidence-based planning, accountable systems, and collaborative partnerships to ensure inclusive and sustainable progress.

Mr. Nishant Sharma

Nishant Sharma is the Chief Executive Officer of the United World Development Promotion Foundation (UWDP). He assumed leadership with a vision to advance sustainable rural transformation through structured, transparent, and community-driven development initiatives.

Under his leadership, UWDP focuses on expanding livelihood opportunities, strengthening grassroots institutions, improving access to healthcare, and building resilient community ecosystems. He emphasizes accountability, measurable impact, and scalable development models designed to serve underserved and vulnerable populations.

Mr. Sharma has played a key role in designing integrated rural development frameworks that combine community mobilization, financial inclusion, institutional strengthening, and sustainable program implementation. His approach prioritizes innovation, digital enablement, and long-term community ownership.

Before leading UWDP, he was actively engaged in development planning, social sector initiatives, and institutional capacity-building efforts. His leadership reflects a results-oriented mindset, strategic planning capability, and a commitment to inclusive growth.

Mr. Sharma believes that sustainable development requires strong partnerships across civil society, private sector stakeholders, community institutions, and responsible financing mechanisms. His work is guided by principles of transparency, equity, and long-term resilience.
